Show #207 Prizm Crash + 2018 NFL Draft + Staying Positive
Friday Nov 17, 2017
Friday Nov 17, 2017
On today's podcast we touch on a wide variety topics around the sports card world and in the world of politics.
First we discuss all the new card sets being released on a daily basis during the last half of the year. It's honestly got to be really hard to manage your cash flow - no matter if you are a dealer or a collector with this many releases coming out. I honestly think it would be wise to specialize in a particular niche - and look to expand into markets that require less cash-flow management like the new card market requires.
I purpose that there be some kind of Group Break Trade Association. Pretty much every industry has one, from Fantasy Sports, to the NRA - like minded people can come together often for the common good. I think group breakers could join forces and create standardize rules & possibly make it a better experience for the consumers who buy into breaks.
I give a quick update on my Amazon, eBay and COMC account sales. Honestly I'm saving most of this discussion for my new podcast at PowerSellingRadio.com - so check it out if you haven't already. I should have another podcast posted later this month.
2017/18 Panini Prizm first off the line NBA baseball box sales literally made Panini's website crash because there was so much demand. While I think the demand was a good sign for Panini - and the basketball card market in general, I saw a lot of negative reaction on Twitter & the Blowoutcard Forums of people who were rightfully frustrated with the buying experience. I share my idea for Panini next time they think they could have this kind of demand - and how it could lead to more sales & less frustration from collectors.
Sports Card Radio hired a full time employee. He's doing a great job - if you've noticed 3-4 new articles are being posted each day. That should continue for the foreseeable future.
2018 Football should be really good. I fully anticipate Josh Rosen from UCLA being the #1 QB on the board, followed by Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield, and Sam Darnold. I see a scenario where all 4 QB's could be selected in the top 10 picks - and possibly in the top 5 if there aren't any other impact players on the board (I honestly am not sure). It should lead to very strong sales of 2018 NFL football cards because I could see each QB being valued at over $100 each for autographs.
Lastly, our Make America Great Again segment, I talk about how you can follow the negative news on Trump .... or decide that you are going to make the most of the things you can. His tax reform bill (if passed) could honestly make you wealthy if you listen to the right people. Remember - 95% of Barack Obama's income gains benefited the 1%. You really think Donald Trump will be any different?? That means you can benefit if you know how to think/act like the 1%. If you only read/digest the negative news, I'm willing to bet you will see those negative things happen to you. Only you decide your outcome, not Donald Trump.

Show #206 Beckett & Leaf Spread #FakeNews About NBA Superstar
Friday Oct 13, 2017
Friday Oct 13, 2017
On today’s show we have a very special guest - Ryan from @SportsCardNews. When he comes on the show outside his annual appearance during the National Sports Collectors Convention … you know something BIG has happened. Something so stupid and preposterous, that we have to bring him on the show to discuss it.
Recently NBA superstar and rapper Damian Lillard was on Twitter proclaiming an autograph a seller was offering was indeed fake. Lillard commented on the social media platform twitter via his account with over 1 million followers that the autograph in question was fake TWICE. It’s rare to have an athlete respond to fans, let alone about an autograph being real or fake. Lillard did this TWICE in one day regarding the same item.
Then Beckett Authentication Services (BAS) and Leaf Trading cards had the audacity to claim Lillard was wrong about his own signature. Beckett even asked Lillard via the social media platform to take A THIRD LOOK at the item! The following day, both Beckett AND Leaf spread the #FakeNews that Lillard had deleted the two tweets where he claimed the autos were fake. In fact Lillard DID NOT delete the tweets - it was the seller of the (fake) autograph (Joel Alpert) who deleted his tweet with a link to the item!
On today’s show - consider this a declaration of war against this ignorant and arrogant card manufactures and “authenticators” that think they know a signature better than the man himself. This podcast serves as the initial shot across the bow against their LIES & DECEPTION! We are SICK AND TIRED of these companies thinking they can spread false claims across this hobby, and we feel this does the hobby harm.
Get ready for an explicit laced show where we BLAST Beckett, Leaf, Joel Alpert and more.

Show #205 Panini's First + Topps Better + Amazon & COMC Update
Wednesday Aug 30, 2017
Wednesday Aug 30, 2017
Initially I thought this would be a shorter show, ended up being about the same length as usual. Talk about Panini's "First Off The Line" offering. Topps Baseball has been on FIRE! Almost all releases are out of stock at distributors - showing strong demand across the board. I hit $10,000+ in Amazon sales in only my 2nd full month selling. Why I think September will be flat or lower. My COMC account I started in June 2015 with $100 has 40% cash. The white jewish media had you all up in arms about 'white on white' crime .... but what about all the black on black crime? I started a new podcast about online marketing & selling products online - check it out at www.powersellingradio.com

Show #204 @SportsCardNews From The 2017 NSCC
Sunday Jul 30, 2017
Sunday Jul 30, 2017
The annual tradition continues! On today’s show we talk to Ryan @SportsCardNews about the 2017 National Sports Collectors Convention being held in Chicago, IL. The show is JAMED packed this year and it seems like sports cards is really in a good place with collectors around the country. You’d think breakers, dealers, and shops would be rolling in the money because of all the customers pouring through the doors - but many are facing challenges of scaling up their business beyond where it’s been the last few years. One company that has a scalable business model is COMC - and it seems like they are still expanding at a rate that isn’t experienced by many in this industry. We discuss some of the stuff going on their and how we are bullish on that websites future. We discuss the Dak Prescott auto-pen situation, and have reliable sources confirming where the auto-pen actually came from. Hint: you might want to take a closer look at your Tony Romo & Troy Aikman “autographs”. We discuss how group breakers seem stuck in the slow lane - and how we predicted that business model has a ceiling that is nearly impossible to break through. We each give an update on Amazon FBA sales. Hint: they are explosive. I tell you what I’m going to buy with my Amazon FBA profits in a few months. Hint: not a piece of cardboard with a man’s photo on it. We take multiple victory laps about calls we’ve made about the stock market, Aaron Judge being good, different sports card business models failing, Panini’s “VIP” party featuring paper plates & napkins. etc. Overall, the hobby seems to be experiencing the effects of a healthy economy & job market, but few dealers (outside the vintage only guys & COMC) really seem to be cashing in big time. One thing is for sure - we’ll be seeing you all again next year so enjoy this annual tradition.

Show #203 Auto-Panini Dak Prescott Scandal + Amazon FBA Updates
Tuesday Jul 11, 2017
Tuesday Jul 11, 2017
This week we discuss the Dak Prescott "Auto Pen" scandal involving Panini America. We discuss the language in contracts signed by other Panini signers - and why it places all responsiblity on Panini. We discuss why Dak Prescott might have done this, and why it might not make sense to have used an auto-pen. Beckett Grading certainly comes out smelling like roses, as they essentially turned away business for the sake of authenticating. Later on in the show I give you an Amazon FBA update - including the first few hours of Amazon Prime Day. If this is any preview of how the holidays will go, it's going to be an explosive Christmas season for me selling on Amazon. I discuss my trip to Las Vegas, blocking Panini butt kissers on Twitter, and more.

Show #202 Time To Move Back Home With Mom - COMC Raised Fees
Thursday Jun 29, 2017
Thursday Jun 29, 2017
Today's show highlights COMC's recent fee changes. Some fees went up, some actually went down. It demonstraits a shift in the market COMC is trying to go after. The company has a massive moat around their 'low-end' card business - it's unlikely any challenger will emerge to take that business away from them. So in order to capture the market COMC has less of (higher-end cards) the company has adjusted fees to encourage/discourage certain cards from being sent in. We discuss if the alternatives are better, or if paying the extra 20% to list a card is worth it. We discuss why liberal politicians in Washington state might be to blame. I discuss why anyone with any investment savvy would salivate over COMC's business model - but scoff at UD/Topps/Panini/Leaf's business. I give an Amazon FBA update. I update my $100 COMC card sales. I try to encourage all these guys living at home with mom to get some new skills and earn more money. I'm doubtful many are capable of pulling that off - but I tried.

If you don’t enjoy selling stuff online, this episode is probably not for you. Anyone looking to expand their online money making empire should listen up since there’s lots of good info in this podcast.
